Since 2019, Zylberschtein’s is a family-owned Jewish deli and bagel shop in North Seattle serving hand-rolled bagels, stacked deli sandwiches, house-made pastries, and breakfast & lunch catering. Friendly neighborhood deli. However, they have recently switched to a self serve kiosk system for ordering. It took 30 minutes to get a drip coffee. I want to support local business but this makes it difficult.

The bagel itself was deliciously chewy and flavorful and the sandwich was incredibly delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The sugar doughnuts were the cherry on top. Also, the latte was made so well, and with good ingredients. Definitely recommend!

Small counter service Bagel store with great options in a diminishing Seattle Bagel area scene. The shmeers are excellent and the bagel sandwich very generously filled.
The service is efficient and professional.
The coffee offerings are very good and make for a very nice experience. There is outside covered seats as the small store can get busy.

My girlfriend loves bagels and I love matzo ball soup, so I figured this would be a great place to visit. They were out of the soup but they had frozen ones, so mission accomplished! I got a couple other menu items and everything was really good. I'll be back to try more of the sandwiches. I'm not a bagel person but the bagel sandwich we got was good, I appreciate how soft the bagel was.

Update February 25, 2026 ...they added this new system where you have to place an order on a computer and the system is like AOL versus AI . Probably spent 15 minutes, trying to get a bagel with cream cheese and held up the line. It was so frustrating that I didn’t even order cream cheese with my white fish salad bagel. This is the poorest form of automation I’ve ever seen executed at a company that should be doing really well because they have great food. This guy watched me struggle and did absolutely nothing while watching the line get longer and longer. On top of that, I really wanted a black-and-white cookie, but the system was so frustrating that I didn’t even bother . And now all of a sudden paying $45 for two bagels feels like way too much after that experience and I won’t be coming back. It used to be like New York, but now it’s a lot more like Seattle. I’m from New York City so I’m probably going to be a little harder than normal people. I will say this is the best bagel place. I’ve tried in Washington. It is also the only place that has good white fish salad. However the lox wasn’t the best, I feel like I may have gotten the last end of the lox batch. I will be back to try again. The staff were amazing and helpful and she even let me taste the whitefish salad. I will also note it was expensive. A coffee and that bagel with lox and whitefish salad and scallion cream cheese for $30. Update Sunday, October 5. I just ordered from DoorDash and everything bagel with white fish salad and chive cream cheese. It was so good. I didn’t even have a chance to take out my phone in time before I ate it.

Neighborhood gem 💎!! Solid bagels for Seattle and we LOVE THEIR PASTRAM, Lox!! Get Frankle and you won’t regret it. Nutella donuts are so good too. Staff here is always welcoming and kind, we have delightful mornings whenever we visit here!

My husband is from Long Island so is very picky about bagels. A student of mine recommended this place so we checked it out, and were not disappointed! The bagels were delightfully chewy and flaverful. I got an everything bagel egg and cheese sandwich, and my husband got a sesame bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich. I also loved that the egg yolks were still a bit jammy, even while being fully cooked. Our 4 year old got the Nutella brioche donut which was a monster - we had to help him finish it. The donut texture was so light while also having some chew to it, and it was absolutely crammed full with Nutella.
The space is on the small side, which is cozy when there isn't a wait. We got in about 9:30 on a Sunday morning when there was no line and spaces to sit. But by 9:45 or 10, all the tables were taken and there was a line to the door. So it pays to get there early, or to order ahead and take it to go.
The only downside is that, if you are used to Long Island prices, it will kill a little something in your soul to pay $13 for a bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich, or $6 for a bagel and schmear. But if that's what we have to pay for a good bagel in Seattle, I guess we will pay up, because we will definitely be coming back.
